About Me
The Nakabayashi Laboratory aims to tackle the challenge of carbon-based manufacturing that can contribute to society. The "stranded resources" we focus on have the potential to be valued, but they are stranded in the market and their potential is not being utilized. Examples range from fossil fuel waste oil, waste plastic, industrial waste, biomass waste oil, and CO2, but what they have in common is that no advanced uses have been identified at this time. Carbon materials are known as high-performance materials widely used in human activities, including aerospace, electronics, and batteries. The Nakabayashi Laboratory aims to contribute to industrial development and a carbon-recycling society by converting (upcycling) "stranded resources" into "carbon materials."
